For decades, Elia Festa’s artistic practice has moved through photography, video, digital processes, and a gaze directed toward the details that emerge from the real world. His research follows paths that lead toward forms of light in which the image becomes a terrain of transformation, and the surface opens onto dimensions that reveal unexpected presences. Blau unveils an intense visual environment of luminous matter advancing in an endless movement. Elia Festa places the eye within the tiniest colored fragments that seem to disperse dynamically through this directional channel oriented toward the perception of territories crossed by water. A sequence of reverberations and inner figures in an expanded flow that feeds areas marked by continuous vibrations. The artwork engages with water through a phantasmagoric and kaleidoscopic visual presence of traces that bring into the scene elements originating from marine ecosystem processes. Human action enters the perceptual field and instantly alters the destiny of the waters. Artistic creation encourages awareness of the relationship between human gesture, environment, and perception.
